Savage Twist in Maine Woman’s Obituary for Her Mom Shocks Everyone
Usually, obituaries are a bit more heartfelt...
So far in my life, I've never been tasked with writing the obituary for any family members or friends who've passed. Normally, I'd assume it's one of the hardest things you could do, for a variety of reasons. Whether it's intense sadness, or even great joy at celebrating a person's life, trying to sum up a person's whole life in a few sentences has got to be rough.

But what if you seemingly couldn't stand the person you had to write one about? What if it was someone you're "supposed" to be close to, but you're just not? Could you do it? I'm sure the hardest part would be trying to separate yourself from your feelings and honor them in some way. Or, you just say screw it, and write what you really feel.
A Maine woman did just that...
Florence "Flo" Henderson recently passed away. According to the obit, which we'll get to in just a minute, Flo dies back in February, so it's been a bit since then. My guess is that her daughter was trying to figure out exactly how she wanted to remember her mother. You may disagree, but it was one of the most savage things I've read in a while. Check it out, from CentralMaine.com...
Florence “Flo” Harrelson, 65, formerly of Chelsea, died on Feb. 22, 2024, without family by her side due to burnt bridges and a wake of destruction left in her path.
Florence did not want an obituary or anyone including family to know she died. That’s because even in death, she wanted those she terrorized to still be living in fear looking over their shoulders. So, this isn’t so much an obituary but more of a public service announcement.
Can you believe that?
The first place I ran into this obit was on Reddit. There were comments in there from people who allegedly knew Flo, and seemed to corroborate the sentiment put forth by her daughter. Some even went off on some pretty personal subjects that didn't specifically paint Flo in the best light.

And maybe all of it's true. But when you read those words, you can tangibly feel the level of anger behind those words. You can agree or disagree, but unless it's your family, it's kind of none of your business. Except of course, the fact that it exists right here on the internet for the world to see. At any rate, RIP Flo. Sounds like you'll have no trouble being remembered.
