Manchester Man Dies While Swimming in Cobbosseecontee Lake
Officials say a Manchester man died while swimming in Cobbosseecontee Lake.
The Maine Warden Service says 24-year-old Edward Kimball of Manchester drowned following a swimming-related incident off Pond Road, near the outlet of the Cobbosseecontee Lake. Officials say he may have suffered health-related complications while swimming. There was no watercraft involved in the incident.
Kimball's body was recovered quickly, in eight feet of water and about 40 feet from shore. First responders attempted life saving measures, but were unable to revive him.
Assisting the Warden Service were the Manchester and Winthrop Fire Departments, as well as the State Police.
