The U.S. Marine Corps landed at the Stonington Municipal Airport this past Friday.....to pick up lobsters.

It was a sight that one would never expect in the small fishing village, a V-22 Osprey military aircraft!  The odd looking aircraft, a cross between a plane and a helicopter that can land and take off vertically, rattled windows and made residents look to the sky!

According to comments on John Wallace Jr.'s Facebook page, while Marine personnel were above the area training a "young crew", they made the stop at the small rural airport to pick up crates of Maine lobster, clams, and other "stuff" to bring to a party in North Carolina.

Hey, the Marines know where the good stuff is!
