A man wanted in connection with the murder of his girlfriend in North Carolina has been arrested in Bangor.

John Curtis Tolson, 29, was arrested Monday on an outstanding warrant out of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. He  is originally from Frisco, North Carolina but, according to Bangor Police, has been living among Bangor's homeless population for an undetermined amount of time.

According to the Coastland Times, Tolson is charged with second degree murder for the death of LeeAnn Fletcher. Police say Tolson was listed as Fletcher's boyfriend. North Carolina's chief medical examiner could not determine an exact cause of death but said that Fletcher suffered blunt force trauma to the head with long-term liver damage a contributing factor. She was hospitalized for several days before passing away in July.

Bangor Police say Tolson was taken into custody without incident.
