
Man From Pittsfield, Maine, Arrested After Allegedly Sexually Assaulting A Dog, Police Say
Staff at the Home Town Veterinary Clinic in Fairfield, Maine made a tragic discovery Friday September 19th regarding a dog that had been brought to their facility.
According to Vincent Morris, Pittsfield Police Chief, medical personnel at the facility called authorities after determining a dog in their care had been paralyzed as a result of an alleged sexual assault by a human.

Pittsfield's Animal Control Officer, Russell Craft visited the facility to interview the staff and collect evidence.
Chief Morris says from there, an arrest was made later that day.
"ACO Craft was able to develop probable cause to charge Christopher Colson (24 y.o.) of Pittsfield, Maine...He was take to Somerset County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000."

As of Monday September 29th, Colson was still incarcerated, according to booking officers at the jail. It appears his bail has been lowered to $1,000. He is charges with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and Bestiality. He is schedule to appear in court January 12, 2026.
