Construction and a water main break are causing some detours for drivers in Bangor on Tuesday.

Folks traveling out Broadway in Bangor will meet with detours intown. Broadway, between State Street and Cumberland Street will be closed for roadwork. While signage will mark detours around the area, motorists are asked to stay away from the area, if at all possible, as it could cause traffic delays.

Crews will also be working on curbing on Broadway, between Stillwater Avenue and South Park Street, but all lanes of traffic should be open. Still, motorists may want to be prepared for traffic to slow in that area.

A water main broke on Forest Avenue Monday night. WABI-TV reports the area near Abraham Lincoln School, between State and Garland Streets, will be closed to traffic for much of the day, while crews repair the break. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area until the road is reopened, sometime Tuesday afternoon.
