There has been a mysterious barge moored in Portland Harbor for a couple of weeks now, and there's one that looks just like off the coast of San Francisco.

People have been speculating as to what they may be. Some have said that they're pre-built sections of a modular structure that will be erected somewhere.

But now techies have noticed the binary code system lingo on the barges' registrations.  Spelled out in computer lingo is BAL0011, which when translated means "barge number 3". Some in the software business now speculate that the structures on the barges may be part of some floating tech centers owned by Google.

Why in Portland and San Francisco?  Are we being used as guinea pigs for some new communications device like Google Glass?  Only time will tell.
