Like places like Bar Harbor and Camden get all the press, a small coastal town with plenty of charm and character has been named the most underrated in Maine

To celebrate all this awesome art, the folks at Bangor Beautiful have come up with a cool way to make sure no one misses a mural.

Within the next two months, folks in Bangor can expect the production of a couple of other large murals in the downtown area.

You see, all of my kids like to practice with markers. All of them. One, in particular, likes to use the youngest as a living piece of paper.

The installation is in part an effort to drive more foot traffic to that area of town, but also to create a picturesque space of whimsey.

Now that the City Council has given the green light, the work can be done to set up the installation, which folks could see go up as soon as the end of the month.

While fighting fires is his main job for the town Bean also has another skill set that he lends to the community: Bean's a pretty amazing artist.

That got me wondering: Who was the artist that created this piece? What was the history behind these images? Where did the idea come from? When was it put up?
