Thunder Hole

Acadia National Park officials announced Monday morning, February 1st that the Ocean Drive section of the Park Loop Road, from Schooner Head Road to Otter Cliffs Road, will be closed from late Monday afternoon through Tuesday due to the impending winter storm.

I wanted to take a ride to Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park, figuring that the area would be ice encased after two days of wind chills of about 20 below, and freezing spray. Thunder Hole didn't disappoint! Check out the photos!

Acadia National Park has officially opened the entire Loop Road as of today!  The road is opening later than usual due to the recent federal budget cuts. Last weekend the Summit Road to Mt.
