Trenton Woman Among 3 Arrested for Drug Trafficking

A Trenton woman and two men from Massachusetts are facing charges for allegedly conspiring to bring illegal drugs into Maine.

The three people charged in federal court this week include:

• Shelby Kleffman, 31 of Trenton, charged with: conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances; conspiracy to possess, use and carry firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking conspiracy
• Armani Minier-Tejada, a/k/a Shotz, a/k/a Gustavo, 22 of Salem, Massachusetts, charged with: conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances; conspiracy to possess, use and carry firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking conspiracy
• Miguel Minier, 55 of Lynn, Massachusetts, charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.

The trio was charged in connection with a drug trafficking conspiracy involving cocaine, cocaine base, fentanyl, and methamphetamine that they were allegedly purchasing in Massachusetts and bringing to Maine. Kleffner and Minier-Tejada were arrested in Maine on Friday, while Minier remains at large.

Court documents state that members of the conspiracy also allegedly possessed numerous firearms, including at least one fully-automatic firearm with a 'selector switch' that converts a semi-automatic firearm into a machine gun. Officials say the weapons were allegedly meant to protect the drug trafficking operation and target operators in a rival operation.

The charge of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, as well as at least 3 years and up to a life of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million. The charge of conspiring to possess, use, and carry firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking conspiracy carries a maximum sentence of life in prison because a machine gun was involved, five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
