There are certain things here in the area that I look forward to and that seem to be an undeniable part of the season. For one of my favorite events for fall is the U Maine Homecoming and happy day it is this weekend.

Events start up on Friday with field hockey, a special star show at the planetarium and the National Broadway tour of ‘42nd Street’ .

Saturday kicks off with a foliage hike, plus many open houses around campus, tailgating before the big game U Maine vs Yale and the event where I’ll be spending most of my time the Alumni Association Craft Fair in the Field House.

He craft fair goes both Saturday 10 – 5 and Sunday 10 – 4. Admission is $2.00 a person which goes towards scholarships and other Alumni projects.

Their site states:

"Homecoming Craft Fair will present the works of over 200 Maine crafters, artists and artisans. This event is a great way to get a jump on holiday shopping with unique, hand-crafted items for one of a kind gifts for extra special friends and relatives. Some of the items exhibited for sale include: hand-made apparel, soaps, jellies and jams, Christmas ornaments, quilts and rugs, wooden toys and furniture, jewelry, photography and paintings, iron work, baskets, wreaths and dried flower arrangements. A food court offers delicious soups and sandwiches to drive away the brisk fall chill."

I’ll be broadcasting from 10 – 1, while I shop of course.

There are also other great performances, sporting events and star shows.
