Amtrak Downeaster Reel Experience Winners [VIDEOS]
One thing I like to do is ride the train, especially The Downeaster! I love the service between Portland and Boston, and look forward to boarding at the new station in Freeport some day.
Today Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) announced the winners of The Reel Experience Video Challenge. Earlier this year, NNEPRA asked Amtrak Downeaster riders to videotape and/or photograph their Downeaster travel experience onboard and in the station communities to create a 2- to 2.5-minute video for a chance to win prizes.
A total of four prizes were awarded in four categories, they are:
Northbound Travel: “Reel Experience at Freeport” submitted by Brandon Aull of Saco.
Southbound Travel: “The Amtrak Rap” submitted by Matthew Peaco of Old Orchard Beach.
Student Category: “Business Boys on the Train” submitted by Timothy Hofmann of Portland.
People’s Choice Award: “Katie’s Reel Amtrak Downeaster Experience” submitted by Bradley Dubois of Portland.
“Selecting the winners was a very difficult decision, having received so many creative and exciting submissions from our riders. They were all great and we enjoyed each and every one,” said Natalie Allen, Marketing Director of NNEPRA. “We have spent years relaying the amenities of the Amtrak Downeaster and it has been very interesting to see what it important to our riders and how they travel on the Downeaster.”
