Acting Great Ed Asner To Star In Eastport Play

The iconic television actor known for portraying Lou Grant on the Mary Tyler Moore Show will star in a downeast Maine production.

Ed Asner, who is now 89 years-old, will appear at the Eastport Arts Center as God in a  political comedy titled "God Help Us!", a show produced by his daughter, Liza Asner.  The Emmy Award winning Asner and his daughter are currently traveling the country and performing the play in small venues like that in Eastport.

In the show, Asner as God, plays a moderator between a man and a woman, both portrayed by local Eastport actors, as they war over political disagreements.

The two performances are coming right up on both October 12th and 13th.
