Today's competition pits two of the biggest live albums of the seventies against each other! Both are double albums, both packed with great classic rock songs!

Yeah, there you were:  Cruising along with your friends in that 1972 Pontiac LeMans, the 6x9 speakers in the back dash were getting ready to crack because you had one of these live albums cranked up to full volume on the 8 track tape player!  It was 1976, and album rock radio was layered with songs recorded live, but these two really stood out.

Here's the hard part:  You only get to take one of them along for the ride!  It's Album VS. Album, and you can only choose ONE!

    Frampton Comes Alive!

    Peter Frampton

One of the biggest selling albums of all time generated a ton of excitement in 1976.  English musician Peter Frampton got the girls excited, and he could jam!  It features Do You Feel Like I Do, Show Me The Way, and Baby, I Love Your Way.  I was fortunate to see Frampton that year in Springfield, Massachusetts.  The J. Geils Band opened the concert, it was their home territory, and you didn't even know they were there.  When Frampton came out the Civic Center went wild.

    One More From The Road

    Lynyrd Skynyrd

It was 1976, and Skynyd had already turned into a rock and roll icon.  The band was at it's best onstage and it showed! Featuring new guitarist Steve Gaines and now with backing vocalists, the album featured kick ass versions of Sweet Home Alabama, the blues rock standard Crossroads, and of course Freebird.  I saw the band play in the summer of 1977, a few months later the plane went down, and the original band was pretty much gone.  This album will always make me remember the night of the show.
