Here's a tough decision for fans of southern rock!  Which one will you choose?

When you think of southern rock, great bands like The Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, The Outlaws, and 38 Special immediately come to mind.  But at least here in Bangor, Lynyrd Skynyrd epitomizes the southern rock sound!

The band has performed twice here in town recently and both times fans got more than their money's worth!  But, these two great albums are where the band got their start!

Unfortunately, in this competition you can only choose ONE!  Good luck with that decision.

    Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd

    Lynyrd Skynyrd

The debut album by Lynyrd Skynyrd took just over a month to record and came out in August of 1973.  At the time little did the band know that it contained what soon would be a rock anthem.  Eventually Skynyrd fans at every concert would shout "Freebird" from the top of their lungs.  It also featured Gimme Three Steps, Tuesday's Gone and Simple Man.

    Second Helping

    Lynyrd Skynyrd

Hard core rock fans picked up on the first album because of Freebird, but Sweet Home Alabama really put the band on the map. Second Helping came out less than a year after the band's debut album, in April of 1974. Besides Sweet Home Alabama it also featured The Ballad Of Curtis Loew, Call Me The Breeze, and Workin' For MCA.
