Allen’s Coffee Brandy Sales Slip in Maine

The champagne of Maine has got some competition due to slipping sales.

Allen's Coffee Brandy is consistently the top selling hard alcohol. Last year however, the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Options reports that about 47,000 fewer bottles of the coffee flavored alcohol were sold in state.

A decline in sales makes room for competition and a competitor has set its sights on Maine. Mr. Boston's Coffee Flavored Brandy has nudged into the top 20 best selling alcohols. 940,000 bottles were sold last year, up from 988,000.

The best selling year for Allen's was 2009, as they sold over a million bottles in Maine.
