Singer/songwriter Don McLean, who was arrested early Monday morning and charged with domestic violence assault, was allowed to return to his Camden home on Wednesday.

The “American Pie” singer was arrested at his home on Hope Road shortly after 2 a.m.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m., McLean was released from the Knox County Jail on $10,000 unsecured bail.

The Bangor Daily News reports that the only bail condition placed on McLean was that he not have any contact with the woman he’s accused of assaulting.

McLean will make his initial court appearance on February 22.
