A fire back on September 12th in Waltham displaced 8 members of one family, including a couple who are expecting their first child.

Over the past few months, the young couple, Sara and Brian Merchant, had been gathering items needed to welcome a new baby.  Everything was lost, the family did not have insurance, and the baby is just months away.

In the past this giving couple had always supported their community and its fundraisers.  Now is the time for the community to give back.

Two big events will happen this Saturday, the first being the Merchant Family Benefit Motorcycle Ride!  Bikers should meet at the Mill Mall in Ellsworth, and the kickstands will go up at 11:30AM!  The ride will go out to Mount Desert Island, and eventually make its way back to the Cave Hill School in Eastbrook.  A $15 donation is suggested.

The Merchant Family Benefit Supper & Auction will then take place at the Cave Hill School between 4 an 8PM.  A spaghetti supper will be served, followed by a live auction of donated items from area businesses and folks.  Live music will be performed too.

Come on out for a good time for a very good cause!
