One fishing crew came to the rescue of another today in the cold waters of Cobscook Bay, near Pembroke.

At 11:54 this Tuesday morning, the captain of the Alex Shea issued a distress call after witnessing the the fishing boat Born Again as it was sinking.  As a 45 foot rescue boat and crew was on it's way from U.S.Coast Guard Station Eastport, the crew of the Alex Shea pulled the two scallop fishermen of the Born Again from the waters, and to the safety of their boat.

Eventually, the two fisherman, who were suffering from hypothermia, were then transferred to the Coast Guard's rescue boat, and taken to Eastport where they were met by EMS.

According to a U.S. Coast Guard press release, the water within Cobscook Bay was 39 degrees at the time.

Good job everyone!
