According to a press release from the Orrington Fire & Rescue Department, firefighters and police deputies will be at recess each Thursday to spend some quality time with the kids at Center Drive School.

The goal is to make students feel safe and comfortable with their public safety professionals and to have "safety teaching moments" with the kids.

The hope is that being in a casual environment the students will feel comfortable asking questions that they make not ask in a more structured environment.

The program will kick off this Thursday from 11am until 12pm at the school on Center Drive in Orrington.

Kudos to the Orrington Fire & Rescue Department for making the effort!!
