Maine fair season ends with a bang this week!

The Fryeburg Fair, one of the biggest and most attended events in Maine runs this week up until Sunday!  The166th edition of the Fair features the biggest livestock displays and competitions held statewide, along with a HUGE flower show!

With over two hundred different acts this year, some of the bigger MUSIC acts will include The Mallett Brothers Band on Monday night, American bluegrass mandolin player Sam Bush on Tuesday night, Recycled Percussion from Manchester, New Hampshire, on Wednesday night, country act Brothers Osborne on Thursday night, and television and Broadway actress Laura Bell Bundy on Friday night!  All these shows begin at 8PM.

This year's fireworks display follows the Laura Bell Bundy performance on Friday night!

The Fryeburg Fairgrounds, at 1154 Main Street, are about 160 miles away from Bangor, but most people feel the drive is definitely worth it. Tickets are $10 for adults and children under 12 are admitted free. Mechanical rides are extra. There are "pay one price days" for mechanical rides, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, the cost is $20.

Things start to happen daily when the gates open at 7AM, with most displays and other attractions getting started by 9.

Plan on staying in the area for the fair?  A "weekly pass" is $65.  No dogs other than service animals allowed. The price for parking depends as to how for away that you'd like to leave your vehicle,  general parking is $5 and premium parking is $10.  Senior Citizen Day, those over 65, are admitted free on Tuesday.
