So apparently there's more loggers than lobster fishermen. But, there's probably more retail salespeople than either of those two other jobs. So.....

According to Business Insider, loggers, or folks overall who work in the Maine woods, are part of the most "disproportionate" job group in Maine.  Meaning there's probably more workers in another profession, but Maine "has far more of these jobs per capita than the nation as a whole."

Interesting.  Anything to make a new list, I guess.

It is interesting to look at the map and see where certain jobs are concentrated.  You can tell where the oil is drilled when you look at New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.  There's a bunch of beef animals raised in Nebraska, and our fruits and vegetables are grown in California.  Factory jobs run rampant in the central part of the country, and thank goodness for those motorboat operators in Florida.

Anyway, loggers are the most "disproportionate" job group in Maine.  They may not understand why, but at least they know to cut those dead stubs first before cutting down anything else!
