State Police say a man is in custody and charged with murder for the death of his grandmother. Her body was found in the backyard of the mobile home the two shared.

Police were called to the mobile home at 1130 Weld Road in Wilton Saturday afternoon for a wellness check. When they arrived, they found the body of 67-year-old Joanne Goudreau in the backyard.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says her grandson, 22-year-old Dana Craney, was home at the time and was taken to the Farmington Police Department for questioning. After consulting with the Attorney General's office overnight, Craney was charged with murder early Sunday morning.

Goudreau's body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy to determine cause of death.
