The state fire marshal’s office has charged a man with burning down the mobile home he recently lived in. Police say 50-year-old Paul “Charlie” Barry of Gray was evicted from the home on December 1st and had been living with a friend in that town.

The fire was reported at about 2 o’clock yesterday morning and destroyed the mobile home that was owned by one of the man's friends. Barry showed up at the fire scene mid-morning smelling of gasoline and was arrested after being interviewed by fire investigators.

Barry’s charged with arson and burglary and is being held at the Cumberland County Jail. He's expected to make his first court appearance either Friday or Tuesday.
