While most kitties can tend to be relaxed and lackadaisical, the ones with energy are sometimes particularly fun to play with and to watch.

Mariah Donovan, Communications Coordinator at the Hancock County SPCA says if you're looking for a lively little chap to keep you company, look no further than their "Pet Of The Week" Raymond.

"Are you looking for a RAY of sunshine? Everybody Loves RAYMOND,
right? Alright, enough with the puns. This handsome orange Energizer
Bunny, I mean cat, is Raymond!"

"If you visit the SPCA-HC and don’t see him in his regular lobby spot, he’s likely in one of the visitation rooms getting his zoomies out. He needs a furever home that can handle all of his excitement and give him the tools needed to get his energy
out."

Donavan says that the purrfect home for Raymond will have lots and lots of toys for him to play with.

"Raymond has never met a toy that he didn’t like. Toys to chase, toys to nibble on, toys to zoom after - any toy will do! You will need lots of them handy to keep up with this young fella."

One thing to keep in mind about Raymond is that he's not big on sharing. And that goes for his toys and his people.

"You would think with all of his energy, Raymond would like some animal friends to playwith, but that is not the case. Raymond really doesn’t like other animals and would prefer to be the center of your world! Raymond loves attention, but he can get a little over-excited and forget he has teeth and claws that don’t feel good on skin."

If you've got the patience, love and toys to take on this rambunctious little Raymond, you can go and visit him at the SPCA of Hancock County.

If you're interested in learning more about any of the animals available for adoption at the SPCA of Hancock County call 207-667-8088 or by visiting their website, spcahancockcounty.org.

"Raymond is a loving sweet potato and needs a home that can let him be his wild, energetic self!"
