If you're out on the water this weekend you'll be in good company, as the Maine Marine Patrol, the Maine Warden Service and the U.S. Coast Guard will be working an process called "Operation Dry Water".

Operation Dry Water is a program designed to raise public awareness about the importance of having a sober driver.  Not only in Maine, but nationwide, authorities will be on the water checking boat operators for alcohol and drugs this Friday through Sunday!

It is illegal to operate a boat in Maine with an alcohol level of .08 or higher. Alcohol was blamed for one Maine boating death last year.

This summer,  please be responsible while on the water.
