PC Computer Sales Hit Record Low

Somewhere in this world Bill Gates is shaking his head.

A 14% dip may not seem like much, but it was an all time low for PC computers. Ever PC manufacturer took a hit in the first quarter of the year. Windows 7, smartphones and tablets are to blame.

Many businesses have been installing Windows 7, opposed to newer Windows 8. Consumers have gone with smartphones opposed to Windows 8 because the similar cell phone-esque operating system. Why buy a cell phone and a computer with the same capabilities?

The popularity, convenience and portability of tablets has caused a spike in sales; translating to a decline in desktop computer sales.

It’s a sign of the times I suppose! I still remember bag phones, and back when people talked face to face.
