Did you see this?

It was pretty cool seeing The Simpsons mention a well-known Portland seafood restaurant. I know I'm late but I had a lot of DVR to get through. The struggle is real. Anyway on Sunday Homer is challenged to a BBQ cook-off against a fictional celebrity chef 'Scotty Boom.' Boom is totally a spoof of Bobby Flay.

Boom hosts a show called 'Eat Down' which Homer watches. While he watches a previous episode of the show Boom says: 'This week I took on the Gilbert family of Portland, Maine. They’ve been making clam chowder for generations!'

Even though Gilbert’s Chowder House was never said by name you can see the parallels.

Gilbert’s Chowder House has been in Portland since 1993. The family owned restaurant opened a second location in Windham in 2009.
