Yeah, we could sit all rolled up on the couch with a hot chocolate and glued to Netflix all day.  But, there are some small things that we all can do to help out during a winter storm.

  • Help out an older neighbor by shoveling off their walkway.
  • Check on the elderly.  Are they warm enough?  Is their phone working?  Could emergency personnel get to their doorstep if they had to?
  • Is there a fire hydrant near your home?  Help dig it out so that they fire department could have access to it.
  • Don't push the snow from your driveway into the road.  If you do, you could very well cause a car to go off the road.
  • Stay off the roads!  Let the professionals clear the roadways before you venture out.  Just staying off the roads during a major winter storm will help prevent accident and injury.

What did you do to help the cause yesterday?  Any good deeds?
