I went to school on Boston on Boyleston Ave. and I have many fond memories many of Bostons iconic amenities not the least of which would be the Boston Public Gardens.  Beautiful and bustling the public garden is fun in any season to walk through.  However, in spring I must say there is something just a little more magical when the swans return, it is a sure sign that summer is on the way.

Up for a road trip? This Wednesday the live swans dubbed Romeo and Juliet, will be returned to the park's lagoon during a special ceremony that includes a parade, a brass band, face painting and other activities for children, including a reading of "Make Way for Ducklings."

It's the 26th year the return has been marked with a special celebration. Oh how I'd love to go.

The swans have spent the winter at Franklin Park Zoo. In addition to the real thing the Public Garden's famed swan boats are already plying the lagoon's waters.

Can't make the trip?  Here a little taste, enjoy.
