The "Big E", the biggest fair in New England starts this Friday, and will continue until October 2nd!

One of the bigger attractions within the fairgrounds is the Avenue of States, where every state within New England has its own building.  One building that fair-goers look forward to the most is the State of Maine Building, where one is likely to find a line of people out the door waiting for a hot Maine baked potato!

Maine Day at the Eastern States Exposition is this Saturday, the 17th!  All sorts of Maine folk and businesses will be there displaying all that the Pine Tree State has to offer. Besides the popular baked potatos, visitors to the building will be able to picked up Maine lobster rolls from the Hancock Gourmet Lobster Company, Whoopie Pies from Wicked Whoopies by Isamax Snacks Inc. and blueberries from the WIld Maine Blueberry Commission.  Game Wardens, the L.L. Bean Bootmobile, Gym Dandies Children's Circus, Captain Eli's Soda, along with Maine's Strawberry Queen, Blueberry Queens, Dairy Princesses, and our Sea Goddess and Potato Queen.

The Big E is located within its fairgrounds in West Springfield, Massachusetts, about a five hour drive from Bangor.  It features the biggest mid-way in New England, an amusement park,  huge agricultural exhibits with various farm animals, a circus, the Budweiser Clydesdales, parades, and performances by Blood, Sweat & Tears, Lee Brice, Maren Morris, Gloria Gaynor and George Thorogood!

Daily tickets average out to $12 for adults and $8 for kids 6 - 12.
