The legendary Blues Boy is no longer with us.

Blues man B.B. King died while in hospice care in Las Vegas. He was 89. King had diabetes and canceled the last four dates of his 2014 tour back in October. His daughter said he may have had a minor heart attack back then.

King had more than 40 studio albums to his credit. Those albums would make him 15-time Grammy winner. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

B.B. is a shortened version of his DJ name. After service in the second World War, he spun tunes under the name Beale Street Blues Boy.

Richie Sambora tweeted: 'My friend and legend BB King passed... I'm so sad... he was so great to me... We've lost the King... My love and prayers to his family.'
Ringo Starr tweeted: 'God bless BB King, peace and love to his family.'

He's survived by his 11 children. CNN says he may have fathered as many as 15 offspring.
