The Springfield Fair runs this weekend!

The gates open this Friday at 5 and the fun continues throughout Labor Day!

Friday night is "Military Night," bring an active military ID and admission is free, so are the rides!  Don't miss the pickup and tractor pulls that begin at 6!

Saturday, Sunday and Monday the gates open at 8 a.m.

Saturday is "Children's Day" with a pet show at 8:30 a.m.  There will be games and giveaways throughout the day for the kids.  Contests include "Bubble Gum Blowing," "Egg Toss," "Hot Shot Basketball," and what would a fair be without the "Manure Pitch Competition?" Check out this year's G-Force Laser Tag in the brand new arena!

Sunday is "4-H Demonstration Day," including the big Springfield Fair Association Horse Show at 9.  Tractor pulling, crafts, a pig scramble, and believe it or not, eel racing will take place. The Pie Eating Contests begin at 1:30 and a Talent Show runs between 5 and 7 p.m.   And, for the first time since 1992 fireworks will be shot off beginning at 8:30.

Monday is "Woodsman's Day" with all sorts of great events like the "Chainsaw Carving Contest," "Pulp Toss" and "Log Rolling." Also for the ladies, there's the "Seed Spitting" and "Skillet Tossing" contests!  Don't miss the Demolition Derby beginning at 3!

The Springfield Fairgrounds are at 94 Park Street. If taking Interstate 95, use Exit 227. Take River Road into Lincoln and turn left onto Route 2. At the traffic light in downtown Lincoln, turn left onto Main Street. Take the right fork at the Methodist church onto Route 6. Continue through the town of Lee to Springfield and follow the signs to the fair!

Admission to the Fair is $12.  $7 for seniors age 62 and over. Friday night general admission is $10 or $25 for a carload of people.

All general parking in the new field by the Fairgrounds is $3.  Handicap and senior parking is still on the fairgrounds.
