
Woman Arrested After a Complaint About Gunshots in Lewiston, Maine
An investigation into alleged gunfire in Lewiston led police to a group of people and a woman who allegedly fired the shots.
Lewiston Police Arrest a 22-Year-Old Woman for Allegedly Shooting in the Street
Lewiston Police say Leyla Isaak, 22, faces multiple charges:
- Aggravated reckless conduct
- Reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon (5 counts)
- Criminal mischief
The criminal mischief charge is for bullets that struck a vehicle.
Lewiston Police Say an Altercation in the Street Preceded Alleged Gunfire
Police were called to the area of Pine and Howard Streets in Lewiston just after 5:30 on Thursday evening for a report of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found several witnesses who described a fight that had happened just before the shots were fired.
They told authorities that a woman had been involved in the altercation when she allegedly fired multiple rounds at the people in the street with whom she had been arguing.
No one was hurt, but a nearby parked vehicle was hit several times.

Officers were able to recover several shell casings in the area pointed out by the witnesses.
One of the witnesses pulled out their cellphone and showed video footage of the suspect, who was later identified as Leyla Isaak.

Officers located Ms. Isaak and the firearm they believe was used in the shooting.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
