Maine State Police say two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash on I-95 in Old Town.

The Deceased Were From Howland and Lincoln

Officials say the deceased are Patrick McMullin, 26, of Howland, and Treasa Savage, 18, of Lincoln.

Police  Learned of the Crash Shortly After Dawn

The crash was reported to Maine State Police at approximately 5:45 Thursday morning and Troopers responded to mile marker 199 southbound in Old Town. When they arrived, they found a single vehicle off the road with two occupants. Both McMullin and Savage were pronounced dead at the scene.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the vehicle was driven by McMullin when it left the roadway and struck a tree. An initial investigation indicates that he likely lost control of his jeep as he passed another vehicle. No one else was hurt in the incident.

Traffic on I-95 Was Slowed for a Couple of Hours

Traffic was reduced to one lane for about two hours while members of the Maine State Police, Maine DOT, Old Town Police and Fire Departments, and Sullivans Towing Service cleared the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
