Galaxie Salsa has been around for 15 years, started by Dana Carman of Buxton, Maine. This salsa is so damn good! It must be good if they've been doing this for over 15 years!

Wait, this salsa I love is from Maine and made with zucchini?

As Dana points out on their website, when you make a specialty food and keep giving it away for free, you know you are onto something. But what exactly does make Galaxie Salsa so damn good?

Most salsa recipes are based with tomato, and while there are tomatoes in our secret recipe, GALAXIE SALSA is based with zucchini. On it's own, zucchini has a ton of health benefits, including Vitamins C, K, and B6, and is a great source of potassium and antioxidants! The zucchini also allows us to create a product that is perfectly flavored and perfectly textured without that "watery" component that most of our competitors have. It is a difference that can only be explained after your first bite!

Is Galaxie Salsa out of Buxton, Maine, named that because it's 'out of this world'?

Nope. The name comes from the family's 1963 Ford Galaxie. They love it, it's a real thing, and it's in their garage! Classic cars have always been a big passion for the family. It's not just the name of the best salsa ever, it's also how they sold it in the beginning. Out of the trunk at car shows. People would ask, 'Where's that Galaxie Salsa?' and viola - the name was born.

They've branched out from car shows, and I tried it when I saw it at Hannaford Supermarket. Keep an eye out if you want to try a salsa and get your veggie intake for the day. Just be careful; you'll eat a whole jar and a whole bag of chips.
