Maine’s Walmart Mystery: Can You Guess Our Strangest Top Item?

I'd love to dive a bit deeper into what's actually "strange".

While there's absolutely nothing in my browser history that would ever get me in any kind of trouble, I bet if someone wanted to get a glimpse into the odd ways my brain works, it would give you a solid point of view. One minute I might be looking for what kind of acne cream Brad Pitt uses, to wondering what the mating habits of invasive species of beetles might be. My brain goes everywhere.

So when I see an article that says it has the most bizarre top Walmart.com purchases are in every state, I obviously need to know what Mainers are buying. I have an unending thirst for useless knowledge, and this seemed right up my alley. Although when I finally got to Maine, I have to say I was a bit let down.

The word "bizarre" shouldn't be thrown around so easily.

When I see that Mainers are making bizarre purchases on Walmart's website, it means one of two things to me. Hopefully anyway. It either means Mainers have a really awesome dark and weird side I'm about to see, or it means Walmart.com has some really off-market, crazy stuff that I immediately want to see.

Turns out, it's really neither of those things. It wasn't groundbreaking on any level at all. However, it did lead to questions. So here's the thing, if you were asked what our most bizarre purchase was, what do you think it would be? I certainly would've never guessed we'd be discussing dessert.

No dinosaur eggs or sea monkeys for us.

Apparently in Maine, the thing we buy the most on Walmart.com is brownie mix. In particular, the Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix, according to Delish.com. I supposed with all the legal weed in Maine, this item could make sense on a variety of levels. Either we're making all the pot brownies out of this, or we're getting stoned and making the brownies for snacks. In any case, I guess I may have been surprised, but I'd hardly call it the most bizarre.

Trust me, some of these are very weird...
