This is the largest fund raising event of the year for the SPCA of Hancock County!

The Wine & Whiskers Benefit and Auction will include both silent and live auctions with Hugh Hildesly of Sotheby’s serving as the evening’s auctioneer. Auction items include a whimsical harbor seal sculpture by local artist Dan Falt, which is pictured above.

Also trips to Bali and Taos, New Mexico,  jewelry designed by Lisa Hall, dinner for 10 at Havana Restaurant in Bar Harbor, and tickets to attend a taping of the popular Bravo TV show, “Watch What Happens Live.”

The Wine & Whiskers Benefit and Auction begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 26th, at  the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor.  The cost is $125 per person. The price of admission  includes hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, dessert, and live music by The Crown Vics, one of the most popular bands in the area!

All of the proceeds directly support the operation of the SPCA of Hancock County, a  non-profit and no-kill animal shelter. The shelter is located in Trenton and serves all of Hancock County.  Check out the latest I-95 Pet of the Week!

Event Co-Chair Michele Croan said in a recent press release about the event, "“Like Acadia National Park, the SPCA of Hancock County recently reached our 100th anniversary. Wine & Whiskers is our most important fundraiser of the year.  We’re hoping to celebrate our centennial by raising $100,000 to help us feed, house, and provide medical assistance for the dogs and cats in our care.”
