Yeah, this is our kind of July 4th!  No crowds, real quick and we didn't even have to find a place to park!

Watch yesterday's entire Independence Day parade in Bar Harbor streamline by in a total of 18 seconds, just about the time it takes to wave Old Glory back and forth a couple of times.

Granted, we didn't get to enjoy the person's dog standing next to us fully, as we know it was so looking forward to drilling it's snout into our crotch, but hey, it's all about convenience in this day and age....watch the video recap.

Thanks to the Mount Desert Islander for posting it to You Tube.

Now we also found it pretty cool that we didn't even have to leave the living room recliner last night to watch the fireworks over Frenchman Bay.  Thanks to BarHarborCam.com, we got to watch the entire display from 25 miles away while wearing nothing but a pair of briefs and eating doughnuts. There wasn't any sound to the feed, but we just imagined that the big booms coming from the drunk guy setting off his paltry fireworks up at the end of the road were actually coming from our smartphone's video display.

Man, life is good in the life of a couch potato.

Now next year we may actually get up the ambition to maybe take the Island Explorer Bus into the celebration, to watch the lobster races, get something to eat and rub elbows with those from Jersey.  We'll think about it.
