American’s Try Canadian Snacks

Heading for the boarder this weekend?  Here are a few things you might want to try once you get there and a few you may want to leave at the store or restaurant.

• A Jos Louis which looks like a cross between a Moon Pie and a Devil Dog
• All dressed chips which sound like a little bit of everything on your chip yet nothing at all.
• Nanaimo Bars which seem to be some sort of fudge that makes your eyes bug out.
• Maple Sugar Candy...Canadian? I suppose, if you're not from New England
• Poutine, you know french fries under a blanket of gravy.  I'm pretty sure they're just trying to kill you so don't fall for it.

Jim from Orrington called in and said the strangest thing he was offered in Canada was Cowboy Steak.  Ready? It is a 3/4 inch by 4 inch slab of deep fried bologna.  Yummy. All this time you thought Canadians were coming down for the shopping when they were really just trying to find a good bag of chips.
