Bangor Fire Department’s Annual Chili And Chowder Cook Off Set For March
Once again it's time to put your taste buds or cooking skills to the test for a great cause.
The Bangor Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 772 5th Chili and Chowder Cook Off is set for March 18 at Hollywood Casino in the Lancaster Ballroom. The annual event benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Maine.
A $10 donation gets you through the door to sample chili and chowder from local restaurants. Be sure to sample the delicious offerings from the amateur chefs too. They're counting on your vote for the People's Choice award. Firefighters and local celebrities will also make to rounds to vote for the best chili and chowder.
Thinking of entering your chili or chowder? You can download a entry form here. Entry fee's are $25 for amateur cooks, and $50 for professionals. Prepare 4-5 quarts of chili or chowder and bring it in a slow cooker or crock pot.
The event kicks off at 6PM. If you're serving up chili or chowder be sure to get there early to get set up.
