It was a big day for Ozzy, and it didn't even involve biting a bat or snorting a line of ants.  Amazing.

It was on this day in 1970 that Black Sabbath released Paranoid, their second and most popular album.  Other than the title track it also featured Iron Man and War Pigs. It didn't take long for teenage boys across all America to blow the windows out while their parents hammered on the bedroom door!

It was this date in 1974 that Aerosmith kicked off a 56 date tour in Detroit, it was the "Get Your Wings Tour" which was in support of their second album, my personal favorite.

Pink Floyd released a song on this date in 1980 that truly amazed the musical world and made just about everyone aware of The Wall.  It was Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2), and it featured school children singing the chorus.  Producer Bob Ezrin had used school children on a record earlier in his career, the song was School's Out by Alice Cooper.  Who says that you can't walk in your footsteps and be successful?

In 2006, "one hit wonder" Gary Glitter was formally charged with committing obscene acts with two underage Vietnam girls and eventually was thrown in prison.   He was deported to England following his sentence where it didn't take long for him to be arrested again for child porn and sexual acts with kids.  He's currently serving 16 years in the slammer.

Paul Revere was born on this day in 1937, no, not the buy who rode the horse to Concord screaming "the British are coming."  Revere started the Raiders in the sixties, but hit it real big as "Paul Revere And The Raiders" with the hit song Indian Reservation in 1971. By the way, Revere's real last name was Dick.  Must have been hell in school.

And today is Kenny Loggins' birthday, born on this day in 1948. We always thought that it was the gopher that sang the theme from the movie Caddyshack, but the video below proves otherwise.  Damn, what a let down.
