The list of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall Fame's Class of 2014 were announced yesterday and they include:  Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Linda Ronstandt, The Replacements, The Zombies and guitarist Link Wray.

The Class of 2014 will  be announced in December and the ceremony will be this coming April in New York.

Among the artists that have been rejected previously and are now returning to the ballet once again are Deep Purple and Kiss, both of whom should be in the Hall, without a doubt.

Actress Suzanne Somers is 67 today.  The actress who has battled cancer for many years is best known for her part as Chrissy on Three's Company!  If you grew up in the 1970s chances are that mom and dad were watching this program.  Mom was following the story line, and dad was watching Chrissy.

"Somebody's Baby" by Jackson Browne peaked at #7 on the chart on this date in 1982.  The song was featured in the movie Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Spicoli ordered pizza and the rest was history.

While we're on the topic of Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Phoebe Cates comes to mind....

! OK, let's move on.

Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead turns 66 today.  One of my favorite videos of all time is the Dead's "Touch Of Grey"!  The Dead lives!

Could it be the worst song ever?  Quite possibly.  A video by tween Alison Gold, called "Chinese Food".  It's moving up the charts.  Between this video and the government shutdown we're certainly showing the world what we're made of. Ugh.
