Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters runs approximately 1:45 min is a PG rated - Adventure | Family | Fantasy - Starring Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson, Nathan Fillion, Stanley Tucci
Based upon the novel “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters” written by Rick Riordan . Percy and his friends must embark on a quest through the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece to stop an ancient evil from rising up to save and restore the magical barrier keeping their village safe from those who would harm them..
First off although I think this movie stand quite well on it’s own I think you’ll have a more bonded feeling to the character if you rent Lightning Thief first. “Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters” Is definitely more action packed than the first installment. The art work in this film is beautiful and although I saw it in 2D I saw many places where the 3D would have been fun to see. There were a few monsters and effects I think would be too frightening for sensitive younger children. There where little elements that reminded me of Harry Potter and Raiders of the Lost Ark which I liked. Also good lessons about acceptance and family. Not quite sure why but it dragged in a few places for me…or so my butt was telling me. However, in the end it pull it all together and sets up the next. On a scale of 1 – 10 I’d give this movie a 7.5
