Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from  spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I buckled up sped into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'Rush'

This movie runs just over 2 hours and is rated R for sexual content, disturbing images , some nudity and brief drug use. It stars Daniel Brühl, Chris Hemsworth, Olivia Wilde and is directed by Ron Howard

Summary:

Set back in the 70's the film follows the life's, loves and tragedies two of the era's top performing Formula 1 racers. The film is based on the true story of a great sporting rivalry between handsome English playboy James Hunt (Hemsworth), and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Austrian driver Niki Lauda (Bruhl). The story explores their distinctly different personal styles on and off the track, their loves and the astonishing 1976 season in which both drivers were willing to risk everything to become world champion in a sport with no margin for error: if you make a mistake, you die

Review:

Over the years of reviewing movies I have come to really trust director Ron Howard and to pick interesting stories and well written scripts and 'Rush' is no exception.  An interesting character study of what drives (no pun intended) each individual to race and how their unprecedented inter connection and respect makes this film a joy to watch.  Howard also, finishes up with the short true biographies of the two in subsequent years after the period of the film that wraps it all up so well.

On a scale of 1 – 10,  I give’ Rush’ an 9
