You had one job, Google.

WGME TV was tipped off by some Maine hotel and inn owners who say they're loosing thousands of dollars a day this tourist season because of a glitch within Google. They claim the search results indicate they're fully booked, when they're not.

Google says it only has availability info for hotels who partner with an online travel agency like Booking.com. Smaller inns and bed and breakfasts told the TV station they can't afford the nearly 30% in commission. So instead of Google's knowledge box showing how to book a room, it says 'No known availability for these dates.'

Google said the notification was meant to indicate that it doesn't know the availability for the dates you're trying to book.

The search engine has since changed it phrasing to 'Check website for rates and availability.'
