Great Maine Outdoor Weekend

Wondering what to do this weekend?  Having a hard time finding fun outdoors? Put the snow shovel away for a couple of days and take advantage of all the 115 plus great outdoor ideas that the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend has to offer!

This Saturday and Sunday, Mainers will flock to the great outdoors for the 5th Annual Great Maine Outdoor Weekend!  Looks like we'll have plenty of snow on the ground to take advantage of all sorts of great outdoor activities.

Organizers of this years event are presenting a "Play Local Theme", encouraging people to explore new activities and places in the area where they live.

The Great Maine Outdoor Weekend coincides with the first day of school vacation, a full moon, Valentine's weekend, and free family fishing days here in Maine!  How about taking the family on a classic snowshoe excursion, find out about natural paper making, or how about taking a hike out to a wood-fired Finnish sauna?

Events this year include a moonlit snowshoe walk with your Valentine, the Maine Outdoor Film Festival at Unity College, an animal track identification class with Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, and many more creative and fun outdoor activities!  For a full listing go HERE!
