Moosehead Lake is the largest lake in Maine, some forty miles long and up to ten miles wide in some spots. It's also home to a few shipwrecks, and some of those remnants still sit on the bottom today.

Watch this really informative video that gives not only a bunch of historic facts about Moosehead Lake, but also shows you video footage and photos of some of the many wrecks that lay on the bottom.

At one time there were many ferries and steamships that carried tourists all over this huge Maine attraction, and some of them still sit quietly and unknown beneath the surface!

By the way, there's a really cool Facebook page about the lake's past too!
