Tonight's mystery artist’s first hit was never actually on their debut album. Can you guess the band or the song??

The song came to us from Pink Floyd and was written by Syd Barrett. According to Wikipedia Roger Waters claimed the song “Arnold Layne” was based on real people who stole from his and Syd’s mother’s wash lines. The story goes "Both my mother and Syd's mother had students as lodgers because there was a girls' college up the road so there were constantly great lines of bras and knickers on our washing lines and 'Arnold' or whoever he was, had bits off our washing lines." In the song title character Arnold Layne is a transvestite whose primary pastime is stealing women's clothes and underwear from washing lines. “Arnold Layne", Pink Floyd's first big hit, was released as the B-side was "Candy and a Currant Bun". Although the song can be seen on the bonus CD of "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" and some other Pink Floyd compilation CDs, it was originally released only as a single.
