Tonight’s mystery artist ‘s interest in music began in elementary school where he tried out of many a solo only to be told his voice was too soft. Can you guess who he is or what band he is loud enough for now??

I think this artist is a true testament to always going after your dreams even when those around you don’t agree. I found this particular story on the band Boston’s homepage as it covered the life and contributions of Tommy DeCarlo. The site tells how Tommy was born and raised in Utica, New York, As a kid he lived and breathed sports, playing baseball, football and basketball throughout his school years. He tried out with the Pittsburgh Pirates on two occasions, but never made the team.

Tommy says, “Quite honestly I wasn’t good enough, but to get that far was an awesome experience.” Tommy’s interest in music began in elementary school when he joined the school choir. He recalls, “Every year I would try out for one of the lead singing solo parts and every year I never got one. They always told me my voice was too soft.”

Now many years later, he shows the world that is not the case as he does here in tonight's featured song.
